A nice new shop nearby for whom we did some design.
We were kindly given this brilliant Book Bag by Alex Walker when he stopped by 72 Rivington Street the other day. We will look forward to working with Alex on a wide range of new projects when he joins the YCN Studio as our illustration intern in July.
Collyn Ahart is joining YCN as Strategy Partner, developing the studio’s cultural and brand strategy offer alongside the design team. Collyn has been running Fray Network’s strategic planning work since early 2010, most recently heading up the research and strategy teams for Sky (BSkyB).
Her independent consulting work will run in parallel to her work with YCN, notably, externally directing the global strategy for Rapha Women.
YCN Director Nick Defty comments: “Having worked with Collyn on projects over the past year it’s terrific to have her now fully knitted into the team. This is an exciting time of growth for us in various directions, and we’ll benefit enormously from her invaluable daily take on the culture that surrounds YCN and its clients”.
We have been treated to this amazing cake, baked by our illustration intern Lauren Radley for us all to enjoy on her last day in the YCN studio. Check out the edible glitter! Thanks Lauren!
We’re working with the awesome Damien Cuypers to create a great big library of portraits, celebrating the faces of those we’re proud to work with. Here’s Oscar Narud of OKAY Studio.
We’re in the midst of preparing an installation for Gap as part of the Milan Furniture Fair, and it’s always a joy to work with the team at OKAY Studio. They’re helping pull it off - as this picture from their studio today goes a small way to prove.
We warmly welcome designer Robert Beveridge to the YCN Studio team, seen sitting comfortably above.
We’ve updated the main YCN website to better reflect the ways we work as a creative company. Three ‘pillars’ are presented - Studio, Talent and Education, the three distinct but complimentary chapters of our ever-evolving story. Gone for the time being are the sections for our Shop & Library, and for our magazine Ideas Illustrated. The good news is that they will very shortly get their own spanking new sites, designed by our Studio team and built by the clever people at Kulör.
